Members of the Wooden Home Builders Association of Japan consist of corporations which produce and supply wooden homes and equipment,parts,and materials,etc.,for homes, as well as individuals or corporations which design wooden homes. Apart from pursuing technology development and investigative research into the wooden post and beam construction method,the association proactively pursues R&D to improve the performance, quality of wooden homes etc.,R&D on production technology and market circulation, investigative research on defect warranty insurance and defect insurance etc.,promoting public awareness to increase demand, and human resource development, among other activities.

Hazama Ando- Marriage of 'traditional technique' and 'state-of-art technology in conservation and restoration projects of cultural and historic buildings

We awarded Grand prize of "Country-ology & Engineering Award" and "Manufacturing Japan Grand Prize" as a result of evaluation of our restoration technology implemented in a restoration of the castle tower, four-tier wooden structure, at 'OZU Castle' (the first restoration work after WW II). Various useful technology with examples are displayed, marriage of traditional and state-of-art technology in the project, such as carved wooden panels at decorative transoms using 3D technology, creation of BIM model of historic castle tower, and so on.
